04 Seocheon Flower Garden: Wongang Ami
Gathering the fragments of broken hearts, we ask:
just as flowers need water, life requires love.
Wherever love tenderly touches, flowers bloom—brightly and radiantly.
making story.
At the eastern edge of the afterlife lies Seocheon Flower Garden,
a mystical place where flowers bloom in abundance.
Won Gangami, the flower caretaker and mother of Hallakgung in Jeju mythology,
traditionally symbolizes sacrifice and motherhood. However, in Miyeojibaengdui,
she is reimagined as a symbol of life.
Her dance reflects the blooming of flowers,
conveying the message that “love is the essence of all life.”
The flowers in Seocheon Flower Garden are not mere backdrops—they interact with her touch and the audience. Paired with natural sounds, traditional instruments, and dynamic lighting, this stage embodies life energy.
Connecting the worlds of life and death,
Miyeojibaengdui and Seocheon Flower Garden invite you to experience
not just life and death but the healing of wounds
and the transformative cycle of love that turns tears into light.
